Runs in your browserPaste the output of a drive health check and get a plain verdict on whether the drive is failing, with what to do. Works with Get-PhysicalDisk, wmic, smartctl and CrystalDiskInfo text. In PowerShell run: Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageReliabilityCounter | Format-List *. Nothing leaves your browser.
Press Windows, type powershell, then choose Run as administrator. Administrator rights are needed for the detailed wear and error counters.
This lists each drive with its health and operational status.
Get-PhysicalDisk | Format-List FriendlyName, MediaType, HealthStatus, OperationalStatusThis adds wear, temperature, read and write errors and power-on hours. The clip part copies the output to your clipboard so you can paste it straight into the box.
Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageReliabilityCounter | Format-List * | clipCrystalDiskInfo is a free tool that shows SMART data for SATA and NVMe drives. Open it, choose Edit then Copy, and paste the result here.
If you have smartmontools installed, list your drives and then read the one you want. Replace /dev/sda with the drive from the scan.
smartctl --scansmartctl -a /dev/sdaPaste the text into the Drive health output box and run the tool. If you have several drives, paste one drive at a time for the clearest verdict.
Older command. On older Windows you can run wmic diskdrive get model, status. It only says OK or Pred Fail, so the PowerShell counters give a much better picture. Microsoft is removing wmic from newer Windows 11 builds.
Nothing printed or access denied? Reopen PowerShell as administrator. Some USB drives and RAID setups do not expose health data to Windows at all.
Drive is failing? Back up your files first, before running any repair tools. Heavy use of a failing drive can make it worse.
Privacy. The output can include your drive serial number. This tool reads the text in your browser and never uploads it.
